Our organization is at a crossroads. And we need to hear from you before we take our next steps.
Over the past three years, the effects of the pandemic have hit PAGE hard. We have sought additional leadership, but none has emerged. Our volunteer base has shrunk from more than 20 down to 3 busy parents who cannot keep the organization humming.
Based on our existing available volunteers, we have two options:
Continue limping along and paying expenses like insurance while being unable to provide the robust event offerings of past years, or
Dissolve PAGE and provide our financial resources back to the state organization.
Now is the decision point. If it’s important to you that PAGE continue to provide unique opportunities for gifted kids, we need you. We need your time, your energy, and your leadership.
Otherwise, we need to stop expending our own time and energy – and PAGE’s limited finances – on an organization that isn’t able to accomplish its mission.
We hope the next 6 months will provide clarity on the best path forward. Gifted students in Wake County deserve to have their educational and social-emotional needs met. We very much hope to do our part to meet them.
If you can commit significant time and/or leadership to PAGE, email us at [email protected] today, and please share with your interested friends. We’d love to connect with you to find a role that puts your knowledge and enthusiasm to use for these kids.
